General Information
China, especially Guangxi, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are located in Southeast Asian, have similar climate and face similar infectious disease challenges, such as malaria, dengue fever and etc.Each country has made remarkable achievements in the prevention and control of certain infectious diseases. In order to provide an opportunity for representatives from above countries to share their ideas and experiences, get to know the most updated research findings, strengthen the collaboration among the countries and make effective regional response on infectious disease epidemic, China is going to hold the 1st China-ASEAN Health Collaboration ForuminNanning, Guangxi, in October 2016.
China-ASEAN Disease Prevention and Control Collaboration Forum is one of the three panel forums under the 1stChina-ASEAN Health Cooperation Forum, which will be held on 26th - 29th October, 2016. Themed with “hand in hand for regional cooperation, shoulder to shoulder for health protection”, the forum will focus on sharing strategies, measures, experiences and new challenges of infectious disease prevention and control; discussing the establishment of information sharing and collaboration mechanism between China and ASEAN. The forum is composed of keynote speech, academic lectures and panel discussion, more detailed information can be found in the Agenda of the forum.
It is expected that this collaboration mechanism will facilitate to strengthen the regional joint effort in infectious disease prevention and control, further improve the epidemic response capacity of above countries, and protect the health of general public.
Health officials, principal leaders of national disease prevention and control institution, experts and scholars in the field of infectious disease prevention and control from China and ASEAN countries, representatives from World Health Organization, and famous experts from the U.S. are invited to this forum. We believe that all delegates would enjoy this great academic feast!
